Kites Queensland (Redcliffe Kite Club)

Kites Queensland (Redcliffe Kite Club) is a club dedicated to fostering the age old art of kite flying and kite making – and are the hosts of the main Ausbuild Kite Flying Arena at Redcliffe KiteFest!

Club members participate in demonstrations across the state (and occasionally interstate and international) and also conduct workshops in basic kite making, but it is the annual Redcliffe KiteFest that they really shine, providing a brilliant display of colour and skill on the Kite Oval. They work tirelessly throughout the year to organise the amazing displays in the sky that you will see at KiteFest.

Want to join the Kites Queensland (Redcliffe Kite Club) – the Club have social fly days at pelican Park on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.

*Our kites are the stars of the show, but even then sometimes stars need to have a rest! Please note that kite displays are completely subject to favourable wind and safety conditions, so sometimes will need to break until conditions improve, meaning we cannot guarantee kite displays at all running times of the Festival. When this happens, we do encourage you to explore the other areas of the Festival, bursting with activities and activations, grab a bite to eat, or, better yet, fly your very own kite in one of our public fly zones, until conditions improve and our professional kites once again fill the sky. Thank you for your understanding!
